GREEN WITH ENVY trailer

Curious as to why this deserves your attention? Well, once you've watched the trailer, join me after the jump for some more information...

It's a joke, geddit?! Leading us on a merry dance through a fairly generic looking rom-com (bonus points for the use of The New Radicals), it was all merely a ruse to deliver us the knock-out punch that is the first appearance of Kermit the Frog. It's a pretty effective stunt, helped by the fact that there's nothing to suggest in that first 50 seconds that this is our first look at the new Muppet movie.

Scripted by and starring Jason Segel, anyone who saw Forgetting Sarah Marshall will know he's got a history of working with felt, so hopefully he's going to deliver us something special for Kermit and Co's return to the big screen. Directed by Flight of the Conchords director/producer James Bobin, if this teaser trailer is anything to go by it should be a pretty funny film. I'm not quite sure of the story (or if the Green With Envy film will fit into it at all), but they've gone to the trouble of creating a poster for Green With Envy which, if you look closely enough, may just be hiding one of our Muppet friends somewhere.
