Not Fully Thor-ed Yet

Yeah, I suppose you could go and watch Marvel's latest superhero movie Thor when it gets released this week, or you could just stay in and watch one of these interesting but quite crucially, legally different interpretations of the character instead.

Fancy watching either of those instead of the Marvel spectacular?

Thort not.

How To Make A Poster For A Todd Phillips Movie

First, take some sunglasses...

Add a quote that means next to nothing outside of its original context...

Take as up close a portrait photograph of your actors as possible, preferably in a dishevelled state...

Add Zach Galifianakis' ever increasing beard...

BINGO! You've got yourself a poster for a Todd Phillips movie!

p.s. Don't forget to make some unnecessary posters for characters no-one cares about anyway...

Monkey Business

With the hype surrounding the upcoming Planet of the Apes prequel Rise of the Planet of the Apes just starting to build, the appropriately named new website for the film, ApesWillRise.com, has given us the first look at the film that should revolutionise Ape based cinema forever. Or maybe it'll just give mo-cap king Andy Serkis another opportunity to jump around a room wearing a ping-pong ball covered leotard. Either way, I'm in.

Are you ready for the clip? Are you sure? Okay then, here we go...

oh.

That was over quite quickly, wasn't it? It's a bit strange that they've only released four seconds of footage when, given the release date is fast approaching, you'd hope they might have got a bit more of it finished by now. Still, that's a pensive looking CGI Ape if ever I saw one. As for the rest of the film, here's hoping they show us a bit more of the people who may or may not be in it before the August 5th release date.

P.s. I know that Apes aren't actually Monkeys, but you trying coming up with a title better than Monkey Business. It's just not possible.

Kinda Funny Lookin'

Of all the peculiar oddities I've encountered on the internet this week, the bizarre tumblr blog Chicks with Steve Buscemeyes has to be among the weirdest and possibly also the greatest. Destined to incite many an awkward discussion over whether you 'still would' or not, the premise is simple; take a photo of a Hollywood beauty and photoshop the unfortunately weasily eyes of the distinguished character actor Steve Buscemi onto their face, therefore rendering the once gorgeous celebrity utterly repulsive.

Why anyone would want to do this, I don't know. That doesn't stop this from being a bizarrely addictive site to visit/horribly scarring experience. I suppose you could say this site is helping in de-constructing the Hollywood myth, but really it's just a good laugh to take the mickey out of some celebrities. Also, if you've got any ideas as to who should be Buscemeyed next, they're welcoming suggestions.

Finally, a blog that gives the people what they want.
